Whats the role

This is an early-career engineering role based in Sydney working within our Identity as a Service (IDaaS) team.

Youll help support and enhance the technology that underpins secure access to Westpacs digital platforms contributing to authentication authorisation and identity management solutions used across the organisation. The role is focused on backend engineering with exposure to cloud and DevOps practices within a large-scale enterprise environment.

Working alongside experienced engineers youll continue to build your capability in identity engineering one of the fastest-growing and most in-demand technology specialisations.

What do I need

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience working with Identity and Access Management (IAM) technologies identity platforms or authentication solutions
  • Experience in backend software engineering ideally using Java or similar object-oriented programming languages
  • Exposure to authentication and authorisation concepts such as Single Sign-On (SSO) OAuth OpenID Connect MFA or directory services
  • Experience building supporting or enhancing applications within enterprise environments
  • An understanding of APIs and system integrations
  • An interest in cloud technologies DevOps practices and modern engineering approaches
  • Strong problem-solving skills curiosity and a proactive approach to learning
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within an agile team environment
