Position Overview

As an Experienced or Apprentice Parts Interpreter at Hutcheon & Pearce youll play a key role in supporting our customers and service team from our Tamworth Branch.

Whether youre an experienced Parts Interpreter looking for your next opportunity or someone eager to start a rewarding career through an apprenticeship youll be part of a team that helps keep our customers moving by providing the right parts advice and support.

This is a hands-on role that combines customer service sales inventory management and parts interpretation. Youll work closely with customers technicians and suppliers to ensure parts are sourced supplied and delivered efficiently.

The position is primarily Monday to Friday with Saturday work required on a rostered basis during peak periods and to support branch operations.

For Apprentice Parts Interpreters this role includes completing a Certificate III in Automotive Sales (Parts Interpreting) through TAFE NSW while gaining valuable on-the-job experience.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Providing exceptional customer service and assisting customers with their parts enquiries
  • Interpreting and identifying parts requirements for customers and service technicians
  • Promoting and selling parts attachments merchandise and related products.
  • Supplying Service Technicians with parts required for repairs and maintenance.
  • Processing stock orders and machine down orders.
  • Receiving and allocating incoming stock to inventory locations.
  • Assisting with parts deliveries and inventory management.
  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting stock control processes.
  • Following up on backorders and communicating updates to customers and technicians.
  • Assisting with merchandising displays and maintaining a clean organised parts department.
  • Participating in training and development programs to build product and industry knowledge.

What Youll Bring

Experienced Parts Interpreters

  • Previous experience in parts interpreting automotive agricultural construction or similar industries.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret parts requirements and provide solutions.

Apprentice Parts Interpreters

  • A genuine interest in parts machinery automotive or agriculture.
  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to completing formal training.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safe work practices.
  • Forklift licence preferred (or willingness to obtain one with our support).
