Job Summary
1st Year Electrical Technician Apprentice Salary - $79355 per annum (plus Super)
As an Apprentice Electrical Technician working towards a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (UEE30820) youll build the skills to install maintain and repair the electricity infrastructure that powers homes businesses and communities across Tasmania.
Working alongside experienced tradespeople youll gain hands-on experience across our underground and ground-mounted distribution network learning how to work safely with high and low voltage cables substations switchgear and public lighting.
Throughout your apprenticeship youll combine on-the-job learning with formal training as you develop practical skills in network construction maintenance fault finding and switching operations. Youll also learn how to respond to network faults and emergencies helping keep Tasmanias electricity network safe reliable and resilient.

To be eligible to participate in our Apprenticeship program you must have the ability to work towards completion of the relevant trade Certificate adhere to health safety and environmental practices in the workplace possess strong communication skills and be able to build positive relationships with peers leaders and our customers.
You will need to be physically fit and able to pass a pre-employment medical examination and hold a current provisional drivers licence by commencement date in February 2027.
You will need to have completed Year 12 and passed Maths English and preferably a Science subject OR have completed pre-vocational studies in Certificate II in Electrotechnology (or equivalent) OR have relevant work experience to be eligible.
Our Electrical Technician Apprenticeships are a 4-year commitment with a permanent role being offered within the region once you are a qualified tradesperson.
This role is based out of our Cambridge depot.
