We are currently seeking a highly collaborative and engaging Aboriginal Engagement Officer to join our Statewide Team and work in close partnership with the Scitech RAP Working Group to lead coordinate and support the effective implementation of Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) initiatives.
This position is Full Time worked as 75 hours per fortnight.
In this role you will:
- Manage coordinate and collaborate across teams in implementing Scitechs Reconciliation Action Plan
- Plan lead and facilitate RAP Working Group meetings and liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of RAP initiatives
- Support community engagement facilitate introductions to Aboriginal organisations individuals and other stakeholders across the WA community
- Represent the organisation at community events including Aboriginal cultural events gatherings or forums
- Support the development of Aboriginal employees through strengthening cultural awareness uplifting voices and identifying career development and training opportunities across Scitech
- Join our travelling team to deliver Scitech programs to regional and remote WA communities
Who are we looking for
We are seeking a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills to clarify and guide the business on building strong culturally respectful relationships with Aboriginal communities and ensure that organisational programs policies and services are inclusive appropriate and responsive to the needs rights and aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Other skills and experience required includes:
- High level of competence in administrative and reporting processes
- Understanding of cultural protocols and community dynamics
- Advance skills in MS Office Suite (Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint Teams) and SharePoint.
- Two years of relevant experience in Aboriginal engagement or people and culture roles
- National Police Clearance or ability to obtain one.
