Department: Customs Clearance
Reports To: Customs Clearance Manager / Supervisor
Location: King Abdul Aziz Port Dammam Bonded and Export Zone

Job Purpose

Responsible for accurately classifying import export re-export transit and bonded-zone shipments according to ZATCA regulations and the GCC Integrated Customs Tariff. The position assigns and verifies HS Codes reviews shipment documents identifies customs restrictions and required permits and supports the preparation of customs declarations through approved customs systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review commercial invoices packing lists bills of lading certificates of origin technical specifications catalogues and other shipping documents.
  • Determine and verify the correct HS Code customs duty rate and applicable tariff treatment.
  • Classify goods according to ZATCA regulations GCC customs tariffs and Harmonized System classification rules.
  • Verify product descriptions materials functions quantities weights values and countries of origin.
  • Identify prohibited or restricted goods and required approvals from relevant government authorities.
  • Coordinate with customers suppliers Customs Clearance Specialists Operations Warehousing Customer Service Safety and other SDES departments.
  • Support customs declarations for import export re-export transit statistical and bonded-zone movements.
  • Respond to customs classification queries remarks inspections and document requests.
  • Request additional technical information when documents are incomplete or insufficient.
  • Maintain accurate classification records supporting documents and the approved HS Code database.
  • Monitor changes to customs regulations tariff schedules restrictions and permit requirements.
  • Escalate incorrect descriptions document discrepancies prohibited goods or compliance concerns immediately.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of customer information customs documents and system credentials.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by the Customs Clearance Manager.
Authority and Accountability

The employee has the authority to request additional documents return incomplete files place classification activities on hold and reject unsupported HS Codes.

The employee must not classify goods based on assumptions incomplete information or misleading product descriptions.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • High-school diploma or higher; diploma or bachelors degree in Customs Logistics Supply Chain International Trade Engineering Chemistry or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in customs classification or customs-clearance operations.
  • Good knowledge of HS Codes ZATCA regulations GCC customs tariffs and customs documentation.
  • Experience with ZATCA Fasah or other customs platforms is preferred.
  • Good Arabic and English communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills accuracy integrity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under customs-clearance deadlines and operational requirements.
  • Must meet applicable ZATCA registration examination licensing and professional requirements.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Accuracy of HS Code classifications.
  • Number of customs remarks or rejected declarations caused by classification errors.
  • Classification turnaround time.
  • Completeness of supporting documents and records.
  • Timely updates to the HS Code database.
  • Delays penalties storage charges or demurrage resulting from classification errors.
