Planning Manager Mechanical

We are seeking an experienced Planning Manager with 1215 years of experience in the Oil & Gas / EPC / Construction industry. The candidate will be responsible for overall project planning scheduling progress monitoring reporting resource planning and coordination with project engineering procurement construction and client teams to ensure projects are delivered within the approved schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules in line with project scope contractual requirements and execution strategies.
- Prepare and monitor baseline schedules Level 3/Level 4 schedules look-ahead schedules and recovery plans.
- Monitor project progress against approved schedules and identify delays critical activities and potential schedule slippages.
- Coordinate with Engineering Procurement Construction Commissioning QA/QC and HSE teams to obtain accurate progress updates.
- Analyse project performance using planned vs. actual progress productivity resource utilisation and critical path analysis.
- Prepare daily weekly and monthly progress reports for project management and clients.
- Conduct regular schedule reviews and highlight areas requiring corrective or preventive action.
- Develop manpower equipment and resource loading plans based on project requirements.
- Prepare and monitor S-curves progress curves histograms dashboards and other planning reports.
- Identify critical and near-critical activities and recommend mitigation measures to maintain project milestones.
- Prepare catch-up/recovery schedules in coordination with project execution teams.
- Support preparation and evaluation of Extension of Time (EOT) delay analysis and time-impact assessments.
- Monitor contractor/subcontractor schedules and assess their progress against approved plans.
- Coordinate with procurement and engineering teams to ensure timely availability of materials drawings engineering deliverables and other project inputs.
- Participate in project progress meetings with clients consultants contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Review project quantities work fronts and productivity data to ensure accurate progress measurement.
- Maintain proper planning documentation and ensure timely submission of contractual planning deliverables.
- Provide management with forecast completion dates schedule risks and project performance analysis.
- Ensure planning activities are aligned with project contractual requirements milestones and overall business objectives.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university/institution.
- 1215 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas EPC construction or related industrial projects.
- Strong experience in project planning and scheduling for Oil & Gas projects.
- Experience in EPC / construction / fabrication / mechanical installation / piping projects will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of project planning scheduling progress measurement and project controls.
- Hands-on experience with Primavera P6 is essential.
- Working knowledge of MS Project and MS Excel is preferred.
- Experience in critical path analysis resource loading S-curves progress measurement and schedule forecasting.
- Experience in delay analysis recovery planning and EOT preparation will be an advantage.
- Strong understanding of project execution methodology and construction sequencing.
- Experience working with clients consultants EPC contractors and subcontractors in Oil & Gas projects.
