Job Summary:
The Postgres/Maria Database Administrator (DBA) position will be responsible for the design implementation configuration maintenance and performance of critical database systems. You will ensure high availability and consistent performance of applications. This is a technical position requiring solid database skills as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Job Responsibilities:
- Manage databases through multiple product lifecycle environments development to missioncritical production systems.
- Install configure and maintain databases on Linux servers (primarily MySQL and PostgreSQL).
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes including monitoring of system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance availability and security.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries and database schema.
- Independently analyze solve and correct issues in realtime and provide problem resolution endtoend.
- Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage database backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans for critical databases.
- Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security policies and access controls for databases.
- Experience in S/4 Migration DR setup and Implementation.
- Must have solid knowledge in Operating Systems (Unix/Windows/Linux) Database (SAP ASE Oracle/DB2/SQL Server/HANA) Administration
- Work with the application team to perform SQL tuning.
- Experience with NoSQL databases MongoDB and Cassandra is a plus.
Job Requirements:
- Experience performing database administration tasks in an operational environment.
- Performing and maintaining database backups.
- Database security tasks (patching and upgrades).
- Database maintenance monitoring performance tuning and troubleshooting
- SQL query optimization.
- Demonstrable knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options
- Experience with hosting databases in Kubernetes.
- Bachelors degree in computer science information technology or software engineering.
- Expertise in database management systems (DBMS) such as Oracle MySQL Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with data warehouses and implementing data management solutions at large scale.
- Experience with Linux Server Administration and Performance tuning.
- Knowledge of database modeling and design.
- Experience in implementing data recovery and backup as well as planning for disaster recovery.
- 3 years of experience in Linux database administration including installation configuration and maintenance of MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
- Experience with database security measures including auditing access control and database encryption.
- Experience with cloudbased database services such as Amazon RDS or Google Cloud SQL is a plus.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
- Knowledge of database modeling and design
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to function on a highperforming team.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
